Dream Team: Carl F. Bucherer, Ethos Watches Release the New Manero Flyback Anniversary Edition, Exclusively for India

The world of timepieces has undergone tremendous change since Carl F. Bucherer was founded in 1888. But one thing that has remained constant is the brand’s uninterrupted ability to create exceptional watches that keep pace with time. This year, the Lucerne-based Manufacturer is celebrating its 135th anniversary. To mark their illustrious heritage and the 20th anniversary of Ethos Watches — their partner in India — the Swiss brand has released the Manero Flyback Anniversary watch (Ref. 00.10919.08.53.99) as an 88-piece limited edition in blue. This watch is exclusively designed for India.

Introduced in 2016, the Manero Flyback Chronograph has always maintained sophisticated, retro aesthetics. The family-owned Carl F. Bucherer is also known for experimenting with various kinds of materials for its cases and different colour combinations for its dials. The latest variant is quite a standout watch with masculine dimensions, a clear and well-balanced design, and a strong movement underneath.

The Carl F. Bucherer Manero Flyback Anniversary watch in stainless steel maintains the traditional 43 mm size with short, curved lugs. There is a fluted and signed crown at 3 o’clock and retro-style pushers at 2 o’clock and 4 o’clock. The blue, sunray-brushed dial gets a double-domed sapphire crystal glass, with a tachymeter scale around the periphery of the watch, sporting white numerals. It is accompanied by a minute track inside, also in white and with a white chapter ring.

What’s more, there are two silver-coloured 30-minute counters at 3 o’clock and a 60-second counter at 9 o’clock with a snailed texture. The update comes via a new date window at 6 o’clock with a white background and black numeral. The wedge-shaped hour markers and the perforated lancet-shaped hour, minute, and central second hands are all 18 ct rose gold-plated and come with a double marker at 12 o’clock.

At the heart of the watch is the automatic CFB 1970 calibre. The traditional Swiss in-house manufacture movement powers the timekeeping, date, and flyback chronograph functions, and offers a standard power reserve of 42 hours. Turning the watch over showcases the sapphire crystal caseback with the engraving of the individual watch number out of 88 and a stainless steel oscillating weight.  Finishing the watch is a blue leather strap with rose seams and a stainless steel pin-lock folding clasp. A fitting tribute to both India’s heritage and Swiss watchmaking savoir faire, the dressy Manero Flyback Anniversary edition goes well not only with formalwear, but also with casual attire.
