Landing Shortly: The New MoonSwatch Model with Snoopy

The frenzy around MoonSwatch just refuses to die down. The first Omega X Swatch collaboration made its debut two years ago; now, the brands have added a new non-limited model to the iconic collection. The latest Omega X Swatch timepiece will be available from March 26 at select Swatch stores.

The new model is equipped with the chronograph function, just like the 11 Bioceramic MoonSwatch models, which depict the planets, and the 11 Mission to Moonshine Gold models. The cherry on top has to be the addition of the moonphase function, which features beloved Snoopy. In other words, Swatch has combined a moonphase with a chronograph for the all-white iteration.

The all-white Omega X Swatch MoonSwatch Mission to the Moonphase is equipped with a moonphase complication.

A nod to Omega’s coveted Snoopy models, the new MoonSwatch Mission To The Moonphase features our favourite Peanuts character on the moonphase disc, lying on the moon, which moves in the subdial at 2 o’clock. On the model’s moonphase mask and disc, a hidden quotation from Snoopy’s comic strip is spotted amidst the crescent moons and stars — it can be seen under UV light.

Omega’s association with Snoopy, NASA’s mascot since the 1960s, goes far back. The Silver Snoopy Award is one of the most prestigious honours the United States’ space agency bestows upon individuals and organisations for outstanding achievements related to human flight safety or mission success. Omega received the Award in 1970 for its role in the history of space exploration, including its essential contribution to bringing the crew of Apollo 13 back home safe and sound.

The Specs

The latest model retains all the essential features of the original Speedmaster Moonwatch, the first watch to land on the moon. The distinct asymmetric case, the instantly recognisable tachymeter-scaled bezel with the dot over the 90, and the typical Speedmaster subdials – all grace the Bioceramic MoonSwatch Mission To The Moonphase.

On the caseback, the watch features its mission statement, and the OMEGA X SWATCH logos can be seen on the dial and the crown. The battery cover is decorated with a “moon”, inspired by the world of Snoopy. A VELCRO© strap resembling a spacesuit adds to the chic style of the watch.

The Omega X Swatch MoonSwatch Mission to the Moonphase Snoopy will be available from March 26.

While Omega’s iconic Moonwatch is a must-have for collectors, Swatch’s Bioceramic MoonSwatch Collection makes it accessible to a larger and younger audience. The latest version stands out with its moonphase function, a perfect addition to the collection.

With the new timepiece set to be on offer from March 26, only one watch can be purchased per person, per day, and per Swatch store.
