A New Dual Tone Interpretation of Joia de Baume & Mercier

Contrast is a fine art that demands an equally refined eye, and Baume & Mercier practises it with admirable restraint. The new Joia de Baume & Mercier M0A10896 pairs stainless steel with a 4N gold-tone PVD coating, giving the collection's jewellery-inspired sensibility a complementary voice without ever disturbing its quiet harmony.

A Jewel Composed in Steel and Gold

The lug-free round case measures 28 mm across and 7.2 mm in thickness. It is crafted in polished stainless steel and framed by a polished stainless steel bezel with a 4N PVD coating. Above the dial sits an antiglare, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. The polished domed stainless steel crown is set with a black agate, a small gem-like detail that adds depth. The full polished stainless steel caseback may be engraved, which will appeal to anyone who treasures a personal inscription.

The silvery sunray motif dial catches the light in soft, shifting gradients. Against it, 4N gilded Roman numerals and leaf hands trace the hour with calm precision. Inside, the Ronda 751 quartz movement displays hours and minutes with five years of autonomy. Water resistance is rated at 50 m, approximately 5 ATM.

A New Character For The Bracelet

The most telling gesture lies at the wrist. For the first time, the integrated three-row H-shaped bracelet combines polished and satin-finished stainless steel with 4N PVD on the five central links on each side. The finishes work in concert, so texture registers before colour does and the gold tone appears as a glint rather than a statement.

Practicality follows the same refinement. An interchangeable bars system lets the bracelet be changed without any need for tools. A polished and satin-finished stainless steel triple folding buckle completes the piece, securing it with the same understated assurance.

The watch is a reward upon a closer look. Its proportions remain as refined as ever, and the two-tone treatment lends a distinctive warmth to a design built on the idea of a jewel that tells the time. It shows how little is needed to change a watch’s temperament: a gold-toned bezel, a row of satin and polished links, a gem-like agate on the crown. It is a lesson in renewal, proof that a beloved silhouette can find fresh expression through material and finish alone while its character stays unmistakably its own.
