A graduated 60-minute scale that ‘counts down’ from 60 to zero marks a countdown bezel as its defining feature. This is usually used to figure out how much time remains in an event, like a race. It is also used to keep track of the remaining time (during military strikes, for instance) on pilot or military clocks.
