A Festive Ode: Frederique Constant Unveils the Classics Index Small Seconds with Indian Numerals

As we enter the most vibrant time of the year, Frederique Constant is joining the celebrations with a thoughtful homage to India. The Swiss maison has introduced the Classics Index Small Seconds Automatic, a graceful timepiece that harmoniously blends classic watchmaking architecture with distinctive, Indian-inspired details. Designed to capture the celebratory essence of the season, it offers a sophisticated yet effortless touch of luxury for festive wristwear.

The focal point of the creation is its light blue sunray-finished dial, which catches ambient light with a soft, radiant glow. What truly elevates this timepiece are the applied Indian indexes gracing the dial. Paired with nickelled hour and minute hands filled with white Super-LumiNova® for crisp legibility, the design achieves a refined balance between local heritage aesthetics and contemporary clarity. At 6 o’clock, a neat small seconds sub-dial anchors the display, giving the overall layout a pleasingly symmetrical profile.
Housed in a well-proportioned 39mm polished stainless steel case with a comfortable 11.65mm profile, the watch feels wonderfully balanced on the wrist. An anti-reflective convex sapphire crystal guards the dial while an engraved solid threaded caseback completes the construction, providing 50 metres of water resistance. The piece is fitted on a five-link brushed and polished stainless steel bracelet equipped with an interchangeable system, making it easy to adapt to any occasion. Inside runs the automatic FC-530 calibre, operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour with 31 jewels and a reliable 38-hour power reserve.

Since 1988, Plan-les-Ouates-based Frederique Constant has built a reputation for crafting accessible Swiss luxury rooted in fine traditional craftsmanship. This festive special edition perfectly embodies that spirit — offering watch enthusiasts a culturally resonant, beautifully finished mechanical companion to celebrate the season in style.
