This Mother’s Day, GMT India celebrates the women who taught us that love gives meaning to every moment of our lives. As Rudyard Kipling puts it, “God could not be everywhere, and therefore he made mothers.” So, what better way to honour this divine presence in our lives than with a timepiece that reflects the timelessness of her love? From elegantly understated classics to bold, modern marvels, we’ve curated seven exceptional watches that speak not just to her style, but to her soul as well. Because a watch isn't just a gift, it's a daily reminder that every second with her is golden!
Cartier Tressage

This yellow and white gold watch has a rectangular dial, shimmering with snow-set diamonds. Equipped with quartz precision, the watch measures 56.2 x 25.7 mm, has a thickness of 11.5 mm, and ensures water resistance of up to 3 bar (30 metres). This model’s case and ardillon buckle are set with 466 brilliant-cut diamonds while the white gold dial is bedecked with 156 brilliant-cut diamonds.

On this watch, two ‘twists’ of gold and diamonds surround a rectangular dial paved with snow-set diamonds. On one side, the smooth roundness of yellow gold alternates with pavé diamonds while on the other, the bold, sharp lines of the brancards provide contrast.

Crafted from midnight blue aventurine glass, the dial has a starry appearance, accentuated by rhodium-plated cone-shaped hands. Powering the watch is Chopard 09.02-C, a self-winding movement with a 42-hour power reserve. This model is finished on a navy blue alligator leather strap with an ethical 18 ct white gold diamond-studded buckle.
Frederique Constant Highlife Ladies Quartz

This 31 mm stainless steel model has a crown at 3 o’clock, along with a polished bezel. The Highlife Ladies Quartz models indicate the hours, minutes, seconds, and date at 3 o’clock. Each blue sunray dial has eight diamonds, a shield hour marker at 9 o’clock, and polished hands. Fitted with the collection’s signature integrated interchangeable straps, these watches are also accompanied by additional rubber straps. Their quartz movement has a five-year battery life.
Grand Seiko Masterpiece Collection Spring Drive 8-Day Jewellery Watch

The watch has a 44.5 mm platinum case and a crown with a diamond. This jewellery watch features the timepiece maker's first-ever pavé diamond setting on the case and bezel. Diamonds of various sizes are arranged to fit together with matched heights. This setting on the platinum case can only be achieved through polishing the thin edges to ensure that they remain sharp. Created through press patterning, the centre of the dial is inspired by a lion’s mane. The diamonds and black spinels surround the dial function as minute markers. These precious stones are evenly set around the arc of the dial within rails crafted in 18 ct white gold. The grey tempered seconds hand glides above the dial with dauphine hour, minute hands. In total, this watch has 649 diamonds. Driving the watch is Calibre 9R01 with 192 hours or 8 days of power reserve.
IWC Schaffhausen Ingenieur Automatic 35

Housed in a 35 mm 18 ct gold case, each watch in this collection is completed with a gold-coloured dial (Ref. IW324903) and an integrated 18 ct gold bracelet that gets attached via its middle links. Secured to the case ring with five functional screws, the bezel is satin-finished with a polished outer edge. In fact, this model is finished with a combination of satin-finished and polished surfaces.

The dial features the characteristic ‘Grid’ pattern, consisting of small lines and squares. Another detail involves the framing of the date window. The hour markers are individually mounted by hand and filled with Super-LumiNova®; the overall look is enhanced by the solid gold hour markers and gold-plated hands. All three versions of the Ingenieur Automatic 35 have been equipped with open casebacks showcasing the 47110 calibre with automatic winding and a power reserve of 42 hours.
Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso One ‘Precious Flowers’ Green Arums

The green grand feu champlevé enamelling process alone requires 15 hours for this 40 mm pink gold timepiece. Surrounding the flowers and foliage, a total of 409 diamonds have been set using the snow- and grain-setting techniques — this process requires 45 hours. Contrasting with the bright green tones of the enamel and adding depth to the motif, a black lacquer is applied among the flowers and leaves.

Fragments of lacquered material are cut into the exact shape and size of the spaces to be filled and are then fixed into place. Crafted from mother-of-pearl, the primary dial has Arabic hour markers, and dauphine hour, minute hands. Powering the watch is a manually-wound Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 846 with a 50-hour power reserve.
Montblanc Iced Sea Automatic Date 0 Oxygen

Sized at 38 mm, the stainless steel cased model has a white stainless steel 60-minute unidirectional rotatable bezel with a bicoloured anodised aluminium insert. The glacier-pattern dial is in white, replicating the colour and texture of ice. The pattern is created with a special technique called gratté-boisé as the base. There’s a surprise element as well ― this is the first time a Montblanc Iced Sea model has been created in pure white.

The light blue shade is also a new tone in the collection; it comes adorned with a sfumato effect. The smoky aesthetic comes from an Italian technique wherein tones and colours gradually merge into each other, producing softened outlines and hazy forms. The dial features white luminescent hands, and Arabic hour markers for 12 o’clock, 6 o’clock, and 9 o’clock; there’s a dot at 12 o’clock on the bezel. Driving the model is Calibre MB 24.17/SW200 with a 38-hour power reserve.
