Speake Marin’s One & Two Openworked Series Gets Four New Models in Titanium and Red Gold

Several renowned watch brands produce openworked dials, catering to different tastes and budgets. Designs can vary; some may opt for a traditional style while others may prefer an avant-garde or contemporary look, thereby offering collectors a wide range of options to choose from. Speake Marin’s One & Two Openworked series follows an out-and-out contemporary style. Four new models, housed in 38 mm and 42 mm cases and crafted in titanium and red gold, have now been added to the series. 

Openworked dials are a window to the movement, gears, and other components, revealing the craftsmanship that goes into making the timepieces tick. In other words, an openworked design provides a unique and captivating visual experience, allowing watch enthusiasts to appreciate the mechanical complexity of it all. The term, "openworked", refers to the practice of cutting away material from the dial or movement, leaving only the essential structural elements, to create a visually stunning and detailed design.

OPENWORKED SANDBLASTED TITANIUM

This collection has two variants that come in 38 mm (Ref. 413817440) and 42 mm (Ref. 414217440) grade 5 titanium cases. The models get polished heart-shaped black PVD-coated hands. Each piece is finished on a black grained leather strap with a titanium folding buckle.

OPENWORKED SANDBLASTED RED GOLD

There are two variants, housed in 38 mm (Ref. 423817440) and 42 mm (Ref. 424217440) 18 ct red gold cases. The models get polished heart-shaped gold-coated hands and are finished on grey grained leather straps with 18 ct red gold pin buckles.

Both models get the engraving on the barrel, clearly visible on the dial side at 5 o’clock, expressing the fundamental values of Speake Marin: RESPECT, INDEPENDENCE, LIBERTE, UNIQUE, AUTHENTICITE, GENEVE, CREATIVITE, MODERNITE. In fact, all four timepieces get sandblasted finish on their openworked dials, with the Speake Marin values engraved on the barrels. There is a small seconds counter at 1:30, applied in 3D, on each. Both Ref. 423817440 and Ref. 424217440 get the signature Piccadilly cases, lugs, and crowns, matching the case material.

Powering the models is the Calibre SMA01 automatic movement with a fully integrated micro-rotor, offering 52 hours of power reserve. Each caseback also gets the same material as that of the case and the bridges are in titanium or red gold.
