Conservation Takes Centre Stage with the New BOMBERG Heritage Cheetah Watch

A stunning cheetah graces the face of Swiss watchmaker BOMBERG’s recently launched limited edition timepiece that’s aptly named the Heritage Cheetah Watch. The 100-pieces-only model aims to highlight themes of conservation and the remarkable beauty of the cheetah that shares a special connection with India’s cultural heritage.

The historical importance of the cheetah in India dates back to ancient times when the feline was highly regarded and even trained for hunts by Indian royalty. A symbol of speed, grace and elegance, the cheetah has been celebrated in various aspects of Indian life over the decades, its distinct appeal and beauty admired and captured in art, literature and folklore as well. Unfortunately, the cheetah was declared extinct in India in 1952. While the current efforts of reintroduction of the species to Indian habitats are not free of challenges, BOMBERG has taken the initiative to support the revival of the cheetah population in India: for every purchase of the BOMBERG Heritage Cheetah watch, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to reintroducing the cheetah into its natural environment.

The cheetah dial, studded with tiny beads and threads, instantly draws attention

A true collectors’ piece, the BOMBERG Heritage Cheetah Watch — powered by the Quartz Ronda Chrono 3540 movement — has one-of-a-kind elegance that instantly stands out. The 45 mm watch comes cased in stainless steel, with the black PVD and golden details adding a luxurious touch. The cheetah dial shines through a resilient sapphire crystal and manages to capture the essence of the animal's grace and power. Handcrafted using the ancient Huichol technique, the dial includes tiny beads and threads embedded onto the surface to create a stunning mosaic of colours and patterns, and the hands are filled with SuperLumiNova to allow greater readability under low-light conditions. The screwed-down crown at 12 o'clock guarantees comfort and functionality, and the black silicone bracelet adds a modern edge to the overall aesthetics of the timepiece. Another special feature is that it comes with an innovative bayonet system that transforms the timepiece into a pocket watch.

With only 100 pieces available worldwide, the BOMBERG Heritage Cheetah Watch will be exclusively available for purchase through authorised BOMBERG retailers in India and the official BOMBERG website.
