Frederique Constant Centres Style and Mechanical Expertise at W&W 2026

At the recently concluded Watches and Wonders (W&W) 2026, Frederique Constant chose to tap into the storied legacy of one of its flagship models, the Classic Worldtimer Manufacture, while also reviving style sensibilities from the eighties via bold jewellery watches. GMT India takes a closer look at the novelties…

Classic Worldtimer Manufacture

The Classic Worldtimer Manufacture has established itself as a cornerstone of Frederique Constant since it was first unveiled in 2012. Today, the Maison successfully attempts a daring, modern reinterpretation that features a new movement, extended autonomy, and a refined design.

Housed in a polished case sized at 40mm, the model prioritises contemporary elegance as equally as it values perfect ergonomics on the wrist. However, at the heart of the watch is the FC-719 Manufacture Caliber, the 35th in-house movement developed by Frederique Constant. It offers an extended power reserve of 72 hours, ensuring greater reliability and convenience for contemporary globetrotters. Through the transparent caseback, wearers can admire the meticulous finishing of the FC-719 movement: Perlage decoration, circular Côtes de Genève, and a satin-finished oscillating weight.

The other standout feature of the watch is, of course, the ‘no-date’ dial. Offering a clean view of the 24 time zones, the dial sports a deep blue gradient at the centre, set against a dark grey embossed world map. The Worldtimer complication stands out for its absolute simplicity ― all functions are adjusted via a single crown, with no additional push-pieces. The 24-hour disc allows for an instant distinction between day and night through the use of a light blue and dark blue bicolour indicator.

Several new dial variations are available, including a limited and individually numbered edition of just 88 pieces. This iteration has a light blue sunray dial with a silver-toned world map, complemented by 12 diamond hourmarkers and a bezel set with 70 diamonds.

Classics Manchette

The new Manchette and its avatars serve as evidence of Frederique Constant’s ability to master aesthetics-forward timepieces as deftly as it executes performance-oriented models like the Classic Worldtimer. First revived in the early 2000s by the brand, the cuff watch now receives a brand new modern interpretation.

The Manchette, which fuses a faceted bracelet with the Clou de Paris motif, establishes itself as bold jewellery that happens to tell time. An ode to the freedom-leaving spirit of the eighties, it doubles up as a fashion accessory that values visual lightness and impertinence over more rigid horological conventions. Supple and loose with its complex seven-link structure and 25.7mm diameter, it hugs the wrist gently, ensuring comfort from day to night. While the yellow gold-plated steel variants paired with a turquoise dial or a black onyx dial are definite head-turners, the polished steel variants with contrasting dial hues create a more subtle sense of harmony.

The dial, which features only the hour and minute hands, has a discreet appeal to it, while the Clou de Paris motif adorns the entire watch in a myriad of sparkling, polished squares, with a brushed finish at the top of each link. The pairing of the understated yet elegant dials with the bold bracelet is a harmonious blend, underscoring the balance between functionality and assertive style.

Beyond its aesthetics and the variety of its dials, each variation of the Classics Manchette shares a reliable, high-performance beating heart: the FC-200 quartz calibre. This technical choice ensures constant horological precision and a remarkable battery life of 60 months.
