MB&F Releases the New Legacy Machine FlyingT Watch, Exclusively for Women

The Legacy Machine FlyingT, introduced in 2019, was MB&F’s first-ever ‘machine’, dedicated to women. Ever since its launch, the timepiece has witnessed several variations, the last one being the tiger eye model. This year, a new variation has joined the FlyingT family: the FlyingT Coeur de Rubis. Its name comes from its delicate pink-toned dial, crafted from a Tanzanian gemstone, called anyolite, also known as ‘Cœur de Rubis’ in French. This limited edition comprises five pieces that have been created exclusively for PMT The Hour Glass, a watch retailer based in Bangkok.

Carved out of Cœur de Rubis, the dial revels in pink hues and polished platinum. Following the success of the Emmanuel Tarpin edition, an exquisite diamond-studded watch, the new FlyingT model is crafted from anyolite. The latter is a metamorphic rock, consisting of a granular mass of bright green chrome-zoisite with minor, very dark green pargasite, containing conspicuous coarse porphyroblasts of purplish red corundum (ruby) that may be up to several centimetres across.

This latest MB&F Legacy Machine FlyingT watch comes in a 38.5 mm 18 ct white gold case with diamonds on the bezel and the lugs. In total, there are 168 diamonds (120 on the case, 21 on the buckle, one on top of the tourbillon cage, and 26 for the crown). Furthermore, the watch gets an asymmetric ventricular opening with a central mounted flying tourbillon. The tourbillon projects high above the rest of the engine, a kinetic, dynamic column that stops just short of the apex of the sapphire crystal dome. At 7 o’clock, there is a black lacquer dial that displays the hours and minutes with a pair of elegant serpentine hands. The dial is inclined at a 50° tilt so that the time can be read only by the wearer; it doesn’t have any hour marker.

The watch is wound via the crown at 9 o’clock and time is set with the crown at 3 o’clock. It is powered by a three-dimensional vertical architecture, automatic winding movement, conceived and developed in-house by MB&F with 100 hours of power reserve. Turning the watch over showcases the automatic winding oscillating weight in the shape of a three-dimensional red gold sun with sculpted rays. Finishing the watch is a calf or alligator leather strap, available with a gold or platinum pin buckle matching the case.
