MeisterSinger Unveils Best Friend Timepiece

MeisterSinger has always been known to create minimalist watches with  single hands to read time. The new Best Friend timepiece is no exception — it does the job profoundly with all the signature notes of the brand. With its new Best Friend edition, the single-hand watch maker presents a unique watch curated in collaboration with the World Wide Fund for Nature, popularly known as WWF. In fact, this is the second time that the watchmaker has teamed up with the organisation following the successful debut of the Edition Planet Earth.

Maintaining its signature single-hand, the new Best Friend timepiece maintains its minimal design

The latest offering is based on the successful Stratoscope series, which features a large, precise moon phase indication that glows in the dark. In this variant, the photorealistic depiction of the passing moon at 12 o’clock is complemented by that of Earth below it on the dial at 6 o’clock. It is set against a black dial that resembles the night sky. There is a date window with a black background and a white numeral at 3 o’clock. The watch has double-digit Arabic hour markers, from 01 to 12, with five-minute markings in between, a minimalist bezel and a stainless steel, oversized crown at 3 o’clock.

So, how does the wearer read the time? Each line in the outer circle of MeisterSinger’s single-hand watch stands for exactly five minutes. The hand is, therefore, both the hour and the minute hand. For example, if the hand points to the fifth stroke after 10, the time is 10:25. The line hierarchy, typical of MeisterSinger single-hand watches, additionally divides the time display into half and quarter hours, thus making it easier to read time accurately.

Limited to 250 pieces, the MS Luna, an automatic movement gives it a 38 hours of power reserve

The collection is limited to only 250 pieces. For every edition sold, MeisterSinger and its retailers will each donate half of a total of 250 euros to directly support WWF projects.

The watch comes on a brown vegan strap in a red WWF engraved box

The 43 mm stainless steel watch is powered by MS Luna, an automatic movement that is based on Sellita SW220 with 38 hours of power reserve. What’s more, it sits on a vegan, dark brown strap.
