TAG Heuer Showcases its Dubai Special Carrera Heuer 02T Watch at DWW 2023

Many cities around the world have iconic structures or monuments that define each city's identity. These landmarks often become cultural or historical symbols, representing the spirit and character of a city. The Colosseum in Rome is an ancient amphitheatre that represents the grandeur of the Roman Empire and is a symbol of Rome's rich history. The Statue of Liberty in New York was a gift from France; the symbol of freedom and democracy has warmly welcomed immigrants arriving at the New York Harbor. Similarly, the awe-inspiring skyline of Dubai is an inextricable part of its identity. To honour this defining characteristic of the emirate, TAG Heuer has unveiled its new 12-piece Carrera Tourbillon H02T Dubai Skyline Limited Edition (Ref. CAR5A8AJ.FC6415) at the ongoing Dubai Watch Week (DWW) 2023.

The Carrera collection has a rich history and is particularly known for its association with motorsports, reflecting the brand's long-standing involvement in the world of racing. The Carrera collection was first introduced in 1963 by Jack Heuer, the then CEO of TAG Heuer. The name ‘Carrera’ is derived from the Carrera Panamericana, a formidable race in Mexico, highlighting the watch's connection with motorsports. Carrera watches often feature a sporty and dynamic design, with elements inspired by the world of racing. This can include such features as tachymeter scales and chronograph functions, and a generally sleek and aerodynamic appearance.

The new 45 mm watch, housed in a black PVD titanium grade 2 case, gets a carbon tachymeter fixed bezel with “U.A.E” embossed on it. The lugs are crafted from carbon and the push buttons feature a carbide coating with blue-hued lacquer on 2 'o'clock and 4 ‘clock. The intricate multilayered skeletonised dial boasts three counters: a blue 30-minute chronograph counter at 3 o’clock, a flying tourbillon at 6 o’clock with a carbon and titanium cage, and a blue 12-hour chronograph counter at 9 o’clock. The chronograph counters take inspiration from Dubai’s blue-lit skyline. The blue accents on the hour markers have white Super-LumiNova. Rhodium plating can be found on the hour, minute, and central second hands.

This COSC-certified chronometer is powered by Calibre Heuer 02T Tourbillon movement with 65 hours of power reserve. The blue sapphire caseback offers a view of the inner workings of the timepiece. The “DUBAI” logo takes centre stage in the middle of the caseback. There is a dedicated "DUBAI LIMITED EDITION" inscription while a one-of-a-kind "XX/12" numbering represents the individual watch number. This timepiece is paired with an alligator strap, sewn on black rubber, sporting black stitching.
