The Latest Tudor Pelagos FXD Models for Alinghi Red Bull Racing Include a Chronograph

Alinghi, a competitive sailing team that was formed in 1994, won America’s Cup in 2003 and 2007; it was the first European team to achieve this feat. To celebrate its partnership with the Alinghi Red Bull Racing, luxury watch brand Tudor has unveiled two new Pelagos FXD models: a chronograph and a time-only watch, inspired by yacht racing. In 2022, the brand partnered with Alinghi Red Bull Racing, one of the top contenders in the world’s most competitive yacht race, America’s Cup. This partnership marked the watchmaker’s foray into the world of competitive yacht racing.

Tudor Pelagos was launched in 2012 as a tribute to the watchmaker’s diving watches. Needless to say, the Pelagos was designed to be a diver's watch in every sense of the term. The newly launched Pelagos timepieces are crafted from carbon composite, titanium, and stainless steel, the same materials that are used for an AC75 (abbreviation for America’s Cup 75), a hydrofoil racing yacht. The colours of the dials are inspired by the hull of an AC75; the red colour around the counters resembles the red stripes on the hull of an AC75.

This time-only model comes in a 42 mm case, with matte finish and a titanium screw-down crown at 3 o’clock. The watch gets a 60-minute black bezel, thanks to the carbon composite material, with 120 clicks. The matte blue dialled watch also gets monobloc applied hour markers and Tudor’s signature snowflake hands, along with a red squared central seconds hand.

This model is powered by the manufacture calibre, MT5602, with 70 hours of power reserve and a chronometer certification from the COSC. The caseback features the Alinghi logo and is finished on a single-piece blue fabric strap.

Pelagos FXD Chrono (Ref. 25807KN)

This marks the debut of a chronograph in the Pelagos collection. The 43 mm watch has a 60-minute bi-directional bezel in titanium, with a matte black carbon composite insert and 120 clicks. You can spot a titanium screw-down crown with the Tudor shield at 3 o’clock and direct action titanium pushers at 2 o’clock and 4 o’clock. The Tudor Pelagos FXD Chrono watch features the same matte blue dial with red chronograph counters — a 45-minute counter at 3 o’clock, a small seconds counter at  9 o’clock, and a date window at 6 o’clock.

Powering the watch is the self-winding mechanical chronograph MT5813 movement, certified by the COSC, delivering 70 hours of power reserve. Finishing the watch is a single-piece blue fabric strap.
