TUDOR Teams Up with Inter To Create a Limited Edition Black Bay 58

Watch brands frequently release limited edition models to commemorate significant football events, victories, or anniversaries. These watches often feature designs inspired by the sport, including team colours, logos, and motifs. TUDOR has now teamed up with Inter to create a limited-edition Black Bay 58 (Ref. 79030N) celebrating their 20th league triumph. Commemorating their Serie A win which got them their 20th Scudetto, the watch features the Second Star, which the team earned after their triumphant 1-1 draw against Lazio .

For the uninitiated, in the Italian football league, a team obtains a star that is permanently placed on their uniform for every ten titles won. After a great season, Inter became the Italian Champions, winning their 20th Scudetto and collecting their Second Star.

With limited manufacturing, only 1908 numbered pieces of the watch are available. The 39mm stainless steel watch comes with a dial that features Inter Milan’s logo at 6 o’clock, and the two stars they earned, printed in gilt. The bezel is unidirectional with a 60-minute graduated disc in matt black anodised aluminium, gilt markings and numerals. The dial of this timepiece is in Ombré blue colour – fading from blue in the centre to black in the outer periphery. It is a time-only watch with no date or day window and gets the signature ‘Snowflake’ hands, a hallmark of TUDOR divers’ watches introduced in 1969, with Grade A Swiss Super-LumiNova® luminescent material. Finishing touches in gold have been applied to the hour markers, hour, minute, and central second hands, and minute track of the black and steel bezel.

Powering the watch is Manufacture Calibre MT5402, a COSC-certified self-winding movement with a 70-hour power reserve. It has the finish typical of TUDOR Manufacture Calibres: its rotor in tungsten monobloc is openworked and satin-brushed with sand-blasted details, and its bridges and mainplate have alternate sand-blasted, polished surfaces and laser decorations. Another notable feature is that the power reserve of the Manufacture Calibre MT5402 is ‘weekend-proof’. This enables the wearer to take the watch off on a Friday evening and put it back on again on Monday morning without having to reset it.

This timepiece is finished on a ‘rivet-style’ 3-link bracelet with ceramic ball bearings that ensure a smooth and secure closure in addition to adding a pleasing tactile element to the action of the clasp. Wearers also get an option for a black fabric strap with an ‘Inter Blue’ stripe and with a buckle.
