The celebrations for India’s triumph at the 95th Annual Academy Awards simply refuse to die down. Yes, we still can’t help mooning over Deepika Padukone presenting the ‘Naatu Naatu’ performance in a Louis Vuitton gown and Cartier jewellery.

Undoubtedly, the film and its award-winning song were the true heroes on the stage. But the exquisite timepieces worn by Indian actors Ram Charan and Jr NTR stole our hearts as well.

Ram Charan’s Patek Philippe Nautilus 5980/1R

The RRR actor wore a beautiful rose gold Patek Nautilus that matched his custom Shantanu & Nikhil ensemble. He was styled by Nikita Jaisinghani.

The Nautilus has been feted as an elegant sports watch since 1976. Even after almost five decades, the collection continues to mesmerise watch buffs with its steel, rose gold, white gold or two-tone combinations.

The watch in question has a unique bezel, rounded in an octagonal shape. The case is constructed like an ingenious porthole and the dial is horizontally embossed. It is powered by Caliber CH 28‑520 C, a mechanical self-winding movement along with date and flyback chronograph functions. Its gradient black dial, featuring gold applied hour markers with luminescent coating, sits perfectly on a gold bracelet with Patek’s patented fold-over clasp with a lockable adjustment system. With a 40.5 mm rose gold case, the watch is water-resistant to 120 metres.

Jr NTR’s Vacheron Constantin Overseas Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin Skeleton (Ref. 300V/120R-B547 41.5mm Pink Gold)

Nattily dressed in custom Gaurav Gupta attire, the RRR actor was styled for the Oscars by Ashwin Mawle and Hassan Khan. Not just the outfit but his rose gold Vacheron Constantin watch also grabbed GMT India’s attention.

The watch in 750/1000 5N rose gold houses an ultra-thin, entirely skeletonised perpetual calendar. The intricate moon phase, featuring a star-studded sky and two gold moons, is the cherry on top. The fine watchmaking finishes and grey tone of the NAC-coated caliber can be seen from the front and through the sapphire caseback. The watch can be personalised as it comes with three easily interchangeable straps – leather, rubber and 750/1000 5N rose gold. The 41.5mm pink gold reference is powered by Caliber 1120 QPSQ/1 and a self-winding movement.
