IWC Schaffhausen Hosts a Watchmaking Masterclass at Mumbai’s Jio World Plaza

IWC Schaffhausen today hosted a watchmaking masterclass, in partnership with watch retailer Art of Time, to celebrate the launch of its first-ever store in India at the Jio World Plaza in Mumbai. The 40 sqm flagship store at the Jio World Plaza offers an immersive yet intimate ambience.

IWC Schaffhausen today hosted a watchmaking masterclass at the Jio World Plaza in Mumbai.

The workshop took place in three slots with a limited number of participants. The insightful session was facilitated by watchmaker Sharath Chandra from IWC’s Manufacture. The masterclass helped participants learn about the basic parts of a movement, and how to assemble and disassemble it. The participants worked on IWC Calibre 98200, a mechanical, hand-wound movement. They disassembled the movement and then reassembled it using watchmaking tools, such as a watchmaker’s loupes, tweezers and screwdrivers.

The participants worked on IWC Calibre 98200, a mechanical, hand-wound movement.

It was a one-of-a-kind experience curated for watch lovers so that they can explore the mechanical movement in detail.
