TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 Malbon Golf Edition Gets Snapdragon Wear™ 4100+ Processor

Connected devices, including watches, are designed to offer a wide range of features that cater to our everyday needs and fitness activities. Connected watches in particular have become an integral tool for people looking to monitor their health, enhance their fitness routines, and even manage their schedules. In 2015, as part of its pioneering efforts, TAG Heuer launched its very own connected smartwatch. Cut to 2024, expanding the brand’s Connected Calibre E4 collection is the new golf-centric TAG Heuer smartwatch, created in collaboration with Malbon Golf, a lifestyle brand driven by its passion for the game. A revamped version of the Connected Calibre E4 Golf Edition, the TAG Heuer Malbon Golf (Ref. SBR8A85.EB0338) watch features chronograph-inspired aesthetics, promising a state-of-the-art, custom-designed digital experience, geared towards performance.

Founded in 2017 by culture and golf enthusiasts Stephen and Erica Malbon, the lifestyle brand provides quality products, tells stories, and invites customers to take part in a community of like-minded thinkers. Like TAG Heuer, their mission is to inspire today’s youth to embrace the great game of golf.

The new TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 45MM x Malbon Golf Edition watch comes in a bold 45 mm black DLC titanium grade 2 sandblasted case. This case is paired with a vivid black matte ceramic bezel, on which the words, “Golf Edition”, are written, marking 18 holes with black-and-yellow steel pushers at 2 o’clock and 4 o’clock, and a black steel crown with a blue shield at 3 o’clock. Graceful turquoise blue and green hues, reminiscent of Malbon Golf’s branding, grace the watch’s sides, the pushers, and the crown.

On the 1.28” 416x416 (326 ppi) OLED screen, the timepiece maker has introduced two watch faces to celebrate the collaboration. The main watch face features the co-branded logo and Stephen Malbon’s character, wearing a cap with the TAG Heuer shield on it, and an animated design that changes colours as the seconds tick by. The second watch face, exclusive to this special-edition piece, draws inspiration from the Heuer 02 design. The sleeve features a co-branded logo with Malbon’s character, a golf ball, a baseball cap, and TAG Heuer branding. This Connected watch also incorporates a pulsometer and specialised golf apps.

With a day’s battery life, the TAG Heuer Malbon Golf Edition is capable of reaching 100% charge in 90 minutes in temperatures ranging between 15°C and 45°C. The watch gets a 430mAh all-day with sensors like heart rate, compass, accelerometer, gyroscope, microphone, and barometer. Powering the Connected watch is the Qualcomm® SnapdragonTM Wear 4100+ processor. This next-generation platform is based on Qualcomm’s ultra-low power hybrid architecture, where the processor meets an ultra-low power co-processor, and is designed to deliver super-fast performance and connectivity.

Regarding connectivity, the smartwatch has bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi, NFC GNSS: GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, QZSS, and Galileo. Turning the watch over showcases the sapphire crystal black DLC titanium grade 2 caseback with the engraving of “Special Edition”. The strap, crafted from rubber and calfskin, incorporates bright yellow and green tones, subtly highlighting the collaboration and injecting vibrancy into the piece. The packaging includes an extra black strap and an additional ballmarker for the clasp. Golf balls featuring the logos of this collaboration complete the package.
